The Quesnel Millionaires gave up 2 goals early in the game before scoring 3 unanswered power play goals in defeating the stubborn Williams Lake Timberwolves 3-2.
Josh Desmarais scored the winner, his second of the night at 11:12 of the second with assists to Jacob Verheyden and Darick Ste-Marie. Verheyden had tied it only 30 seconds earlier as he took a beautiful feed from Desmarais and Skylar Smutek involved in the play as well. Desmarais got Quesnel on the board late in the first period as he took a feed again from Smutek, as he blasted his patent slap shot high glove side and the first ended 2-1 Williams Lake.
The Timberwolves gave the Mills a scare as they came out with two quick goals by Jason Diehl at 2:36 and Calvin Johnson at 4:15 before chasing Mills starter Luke Siemens.
Sean Donnelly gave the Timberwolves a chance, stopping 35 of 38 shots fired his way, many of the tough variety. Quesnel is now off til next Wednesday when they start the 4 game in 5 day Island road trip.
