The Quesnel Millionaires had built up a 3-1 lead heading into the third period, but couldn't hold it as the Victoria Grizzlies came storming back and eventually win 4-3 in the extra frame.
Quesnel got a pair of goals in the second period with Josh Desmarais scoring at 12:54 from Darick Ste-Marie and Jacob Verheyden and then 29th only 10 seconds left Clayton Chessa scored from Trever Hertz and Justin Hogan. Quesnel took a minor penalty to start the third and that seemed to give the Grizzlies their opening as they scored on the power play as Mike tebbutt scored with the extra man at 1:20. They sent the game in to overtime, as Madison Dias picked up a juicy rebound at 18:10.
The overtime goal was brought into the zone by Alex Allan and bounced off the leg of Joel Lowry 3 minutes into the extra frame for the win. Quesnels first goal of the game came in the first period as Darick Ste-Marie scored on a 2 on 1, using Desmarais as the decoy at 8:38. The Grizzlies got on the score sheet as goaltender Kirby Halcrow and the defence got mixed up and Dylan Nowakowski stole the puck off the goaltender and popped the puck into the open net.
Taylor Holst went off the ice in the second period after suffering a stiff hit from Defenceman Jordan Heywood just outside the Victoria blueline. Quesnel is back on the ice tomorrow night, as they take on the Williams Lake Timberwolves in the Lake City.
